Overview
In keeping with its philosophy of promoting music making, the Festival International
de Jazz de Montréal has launched a contest for guitarists of all ages and
music style: the Montreal Guitar Grand Prix
Along with living out their dreams onstage, participating guitarists are eligible
to win thousands of dollars in prizes in four categories: blues/rock, classical,
jazz (archtop and gypsy) and acoustic (fingerstyle and fingerpicking). The judges'
panels ask only to be wowed, moved and blown away.
